Integrated Quantum & AI Computing Consortium Seminars, 8 January 2026
The inauguration of the Integrated Quantum & AI Computing Consortium Seminars was successfully hosted by NUS Physics on 8 January.
The event brought together 16 key representatives from prominent organisations including Singapore Airlines, PCS Security, The Digital and Intelligence Service, Home Team Science and Technology Agency, and the Ministry of Digital Development and Information. Notably, Singapore Airlines, PCS Security and The Digital and Intelligence Service attended as formal members of this newly established consortium aimed at accelerating quantum adoption.

The seminars featured a diverse range of expert perspectives, beginning with Mr George Loh, Associate Vice President (Strategic Partnership), NUS, who outlined the strategic development and trends of Singapore’s quantum and AI landscape. To embrace the quantum revolution on the horizon, Professor Gong Jiangbin, Head, NUS Physics, provided a deep dive into the foundational principles of quantum physics, while Mr Julian Tan, IBM Quantum Business Development Executive, shared insights into IBM’s commercial quantum business development. The technical session was rounded out by Associate Professor Chen Ying from NUS Mathematics, who discussed the integration of algorithmic intelligence, and Associate Professor Ng Hui Khoon from NUS Physics and the Centre for Quantum Technologies, who presented cutting-edge research on AI-aided error correction.
The event marked the launch of a strategic initiative to bridge industry, academia, and government agencies. The goal is to cultivate a collaborative ecosystem in Singapore dedicated to workforce development and innovation in quantum and AI computing technologies.
