  • Published > 273 research papers in well reputed international materials research, physics and chemistry  journals on portable energy related aspects
  • Edited 18 books
  • Trained 21 Ph.D/M.Sc students for higher degree
  • Taught various Physics and Materials Science courses at levels 1000 to 4000
  • Worked as Visiting Professor at University of Zurich, and Visiting Associate Professor at the University of Pennsylvania.
  • Participated in various Departmental administrative responsibilities including level coordinator, laboratory coordinator, filing for graduation, graduate student seminars, etc.
  • Serving on the Editorial Board of the following journals - Solid State Ionics, Journal of Solid State Electrochemistry, Journal of Materials Education, and Materials Research Foundations
  • Organized the following outreach activities for the Physics Department - Annual Physics Enrichment Camp, Workshops for teachers, and Public Lectures by eminent scientists and Asian Physics Olympiad 2014.
  • Organized the following National and International Conferences in Singapore for the benefit of scientists of the region and worldwide - 1st Asian Conference on the Solid State Ionics, 1988; 10th International Conference on Solid State Ionics, 1995; 13th International Battery Association Meeting, 1997; International Conference on Materials for Advanced Technologies, (2001- ); MRS-S National Conference on Advanced Materials, (2004- ); 4th Asian Conference on Nanoscience and Nanotechnology 2008, IUMRS - international Conference of Young Researchers on Advanced Materials (ICYRAM) 2012.
  • Founded the Asian Society for Solid State Ionics in Singapore in 1986. Served this Society in various capacities until 2012. Edited the proceedings of each of the 14 conferences and made copies available to all conference delegates during the conference itself.
  • Serving the Materials Research Society of Singapore (MRS-S) as it's President for the last 16 years and organized the first 8 "International Conference on Materials for Advanced Technologies"
  • Organized Public Lectures by Nobel Laureates in conjunction with ICMAT.   
  • Planning for IUMRS - International Conference for Electronic Materials (ICEM) 2016, 4 - 8 July, 2016.
