|Current Reaseach Focus
Current Field of Research: Condensed Matter Physics and
Materials Science with special relevance to the experimental investigations on Electrode and Electrolyte Materials for Lithium Ion and Lithium Polymer Batteries (Micro-power sources).
The main focus of present research is on the investigation of transition metal oxides as cathodes (LiCoO2, LiNiO2, LiMn2O4 in pure and doped form), tin composite alloys as anodes, and solid ionic conductors as solid electrolytes in crystalline, glassy, and polymeric form for Li ion and Li polymer batteries. Composition-structure-property correlation is being made for all these materials. Actual cell design and performance studies are also done. Laboratory and industry tests are also being made.
