ONDL scientist honoured in 2011 For Women In Science(FWIS) Award

25 Aug 2011. ONDL scientist Rui-Qi PNG is honoured this evening as one of the top three finalists in the Materials Science category of the 2011 For Women In Science (FWIS) Award Ceremony held at the ArtScience Museum, Marina Bay Sands, for her contributions to the study of polymer organic semiconductors. Guest-Of-Honour Mr Andrew Toh, Non-Resident Ambassador to UNESCO, spoke of the need to promote further participation of women in the science, engineering and mathematics fields in Singapore and worldwide, and to recognise their contributions and excellence. "The world needs science, and science needs women," he told the audience of distinguished women scientists, administrators and establishment figures. This is the third year of the FWIS Awards. Rui-Qi is the youngest woman in Singapore so far to be honoured this way.
