Direct observation of the Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction in an ultrathin Pt/Co/Ni film. Stokes and anti-Stokes Brillouin spectra measured at a fixed incident angle θ = 45º under oppositely-oriented external magnetic fields H0 = 97 mT/U0. Inset: Schematic of the Cartesian coordinate system and 180° back-scattering geometry. The incident and scattered light beams lie in the x-y plane and are at an angle θ to the y-axis. The magnon wave vector is denoted by k.
