Faculty Positions

The Department of Physics, Faculty of Science, National University of Singapore (NUS), invites applications for tenure-track faculty positions at Assistant Professorship, Associate Professorship and Professorship levels specializing in the following areas:

 

  • Areas of Biophysics with emphasis on Molecular Biophysics;
    • Computational Biophysics and Bioinformatics; Cell Biophysics;
    • Neurobiological Physics; Biosensor and Bioelectronics;
    • Biophysical Imaging and Spectroscopic Techniques or other fields of Biophysics.
  • Mesoscopic and Nano-devices Physics;
  • Quantum Information and Computation;
  • Surface and Materials Physics .

 

Candidates should have a Ph.D. with relevant postdoctoral experience, and demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching and research. They should possess leadership qualities and are expected to build up the respective research strengths in the Department. Candidates with outstanding potential and promise will also be considered even if their fields of specialization do not fall within the above categories.

NUS is in the same league as the top "Research 1 Universities" in USA (Carnegie Classification) and successful candidates can expect competitive levels of salary and research support. The Department of Physics has over 30 full-time faculty members, assisted by 25 research personnel, including postdoctoral fellows. Its graduate student community numbers over 100, of which half are Ph.D. candidates.
