Current Research and Future Direction

  • Nonlinear Photonic Crystals
    Fabrication of NLPC of various designs and study of parametric and cascaded-parametric interaction processes covering spectrum range from the visible to the terahertz range.

  • Nonlinear Optics of Nanostructures
    Ultrafast nonlinear optical dynamics in noble metal/dielectric, metal/semiconductor nanocomposites and one-dimensional photonic crystals. Investigation of spin dynamics on the subpicosecond timescales by time-resolved magneto-optical technique.

  • Terahertz Time-Domain Spectroscopy
    THz-TDS operates with sub-picosecond pulses of electromagnetic radiation, which in the frequency domain implies the coverage of a very broad range spanning from tens of gigahertz to a few terahertz. Research area includes nanoscale materials and bio-molecular materials.
